iDEAL payment is a popular online payment method in the Netherlands. Operated by Currence and supported by major Dutch banks, it enables easy direct bank transfers, instantly transferring funds to the store owner’s account during checkout.
FunnelKit Pay supports the iDEAL payment gateway, so users can easily check out using their local payment method and currency.

Configuration
Follow the step-by-step instructions to set up iDEAL payment method in your WooCommerce store:
Step 1: Enable iDEAL from your Stripe account
To do this, first log in to your Stripe account.
After successfully logging in, Click on Settings (gear icon) on the top right.
Next, click on Payment Methods.
Here, hit the Edit Settings.
Now, turn on iDEAL from the payment method list.
Now, iDEAL is enabled on your Stripe account.
Step 2: Enable iDEAL from FunnelKit Pay
Next, go to WooCommerce ⇒ Settings ⇒ Payments.
Then, look for Stripe iDeal Gateway – iDEAL on the list and hit the button “Finish Set up” next to it.
Check the Enable Stripe iDEAL option to enable iDEAL using FunnelKit Pay.
Step 3: Configure the iDEAL payment settings
Next, configure the following options:
- Title: It will appear on the payment page. Example: “iDEAL”
- Description: Enter a brief description explaining iDEAL as a payment option. Example: You will be redirected to iDEAL.
- Selling location(s): Choose the option “Sell to specific countries”.
- Sell to specific countries: Ensure the Netherlands is added here.
After setting up the configurations, make sure to hit Save changes to update.
Now, the iDEAL payment method is enabled on your WooCommerce store.
Testing
Make sure to test iDEAL payments on your store first before going live.
By default, Stripe API is in Test mode, allowing you to place orders using demo cards to test payments.
🔔 Note: We recommend using the “Test Mode (For administrators)” for testing. This enables test mode for admin users only; while shoppers remain in Live mode.
Try placing an order to test this payment method. On the checkout page, select iDEAL.
Select the ‘iDEAL’ payment option, then choose your preferred bank and place the order.
You’ll see the iDEAL test payment page because your store is currently in the test mode.
Here, you’ll get two options: Authorize Test Payment and Fail Test Payment.
If you choose to authorize test payment, you will be redirected to the thank you page.
That’s how easily you can test the WooCommerce iDEAL gateway.
Once you’ve set everything up and tested your payments, we recommend you switch to live mode.
You can do this by going to the WooCommerce Settings ⇨ Payments tab.
Continue to Stripe API Settings and change the mode to admin only test or live mode. This way, you can capture real transactions from customers in your store.
Save the changes once done.
